Australian born Isaac Michael Michael Cohen was an esteemed portrait painter (1884 – 1951). He studied at the National Gallery of Victoria art school, under Fred McCubbin. Examples of his work may be found in the  National Portrait Gallery, London and the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra

Rabbi Jacob Danglow was the Jewish Chaplain for the Australian Imperial Forces on the Western Front during World War I, and a long-serving Minister at the St Kilda Hebrew Congregation.
